Iran Ashura animation sees home release

Iranian Ashura themed film ‘Nasour’ by Dariush Dalvand is now available in the Iranian markets for purchase.

Iranian Ashura themed animation ‘Nasour’ directed by Dariush Dalvand sees home release in the country. 

An Iranian distributor made the religious animation available for home viewing, a local media said on Saturday.

‘Nasour’ previously received best animation prize known as ‘al-Jarh al-Khaled’ among other animated titles from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt at the al-Ghadeer International Bazaar and Festival in Iraq.

The animation producer, Dariush Dalvand attended the festival and received the award at its closing ceremony held September 25, 2016.

‘Nasour’ is an animated narrative with a focus on Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his battle in Karbala.

Imam Hussein (PBUH) and 72 of his loyal companions, including his family members, were martyred on Ashura, the tenth day of the lunar month of Muharram, in the battle of Karbala against the second Umayyad caliph, Yazid I, in 680 AD.
